Dana wasn’t feeling grounded, nor was she feeling the self-assurance she usually enjoyed. She also complained of feeling spaced-out, as she called. Dana was having trouble following through with goals and completing deadlines at work. She felt concerned. “What’s wrong with me these days?” she lamented.
Sam grumbled about being absent minded, dropping things, tripping over things, getting startled frequently and generally feeling, to use his words, “not all there.”
With a background in sports, Sam developed coordination skills, quick reflexes, with an all around agility he could always count on until now. Sam has noticed this for a few months before calling me. He’s confused as to why he’s feeling this way. It’s becoming more than an annoyance for Sam, he’s worried about it.
Dana and Sam have something in common. Both of them are not wholly inside their own bodies. Like a hand in a glove, their energy body should be nestled snugly inside their physical body most of the time.
I’ve seen people’s energy bodies slumping to the side of their physical body, exiting out of the top of their head, while dislodging from their feet. Sometimes client’s energy bodies are visibly leaning backwards, essentially falling outside of their back, head and shoulders while still connected to their feet.
When we sleep, it is believed that we travel outside our bodies, but that we come back before wakefulness. The question is, what makes our energy body detach from our physical bodies when we’re not asleep? What makes that happen and what are the consequences?
After looking at Dana in my mind’s eye, it was apparent she wasn’t getting enough nutrients. I asked her if she was dieting or skipping meals. She said she had trouble taking time for her meals. Being so busy, trying to get everything done well meant skipping meals, then eating treats later on to her detriment.
I could see, again in my mind’s eye, that her brain was starved for the nutrients it needed, thus the spaced out feeling Dana complained of. Our body knows when the energy body isn’t fueling it with its presence. When the energy body isn’t anchored inside the physical form, at the very least, we lose focus, strength, and clarity. The physical body thinks it’s going to die when denied the valuable fuel it requires; thinking its going to die, it goes into a stressful mode that can push the energy body outside of the physical.
Another problem Dana created by not eating healthy, was an over growth of Candida Albicans. The Candida caused yeast infections, fuzzy thoughts, indigestion, bad breath, and difficulty focusing her attention. I suggested that Dana get a copy of “The Zone” by Barry Sears that could teach her about high glycemic foods and provide recipes. She could learn to take better care of herself. I asked her if she was ready to do that. Was she ready to love herself more by making a few profound life changes? “Are you ready to demonstrate loving yourself by improving your self-care?” I asked.
Sam was visibly beside himself. His energy body was leaning to the right side of his physical body. What pushed his energy body to the right side and why?
Looking at Sam’s energy field revealed that he too had a tendency to eat poor quality, what I call, “non-food” substances or corporate food. Sam bought fast food from the grocery store; he rarely ate fresh food. The general rule is to only eat foods when the list of ingredients is a few lines or less. Better yet, is to eat only fresh foods that aren’t packaged at all.
Sam was nodding his head in agreement as I relayed this information during our Skype session. He said he knew he wasn’t feeding himself right, but his life was so hectic how could he? I asked him if he was ready to make a commitment to his body.
Was he ready to be a more effective life manager? Was he ready to take better care of himself? I pointed out to him that his body was probably his closest and dearest friend. I explained that his body loved him unconditionally every second of everyday. The proof of this is in his heart, his heart that’s pumping blood throughout his system without him ever having to ask. I asked him if he’d ever thought of his body in this way. Had he ever placed a high enough value on his own body. Sam got quiet and then said he hadn’t.
Sam and Dana spent an abundance of time in their heads, thinking, processing, and deciding. They both needed to slip fully into their bodies, and work in tandem with their minds, thus allowing for self-awareness. They were out of balance with their diets, body, and focus. When this happens we lose our way as human beings. We forget; we disconnect from our instincts in ways that other animals do not. Listen to your body; it knows what feels good and what doesn’t. To invite an energy body to stay anchored within, eat real food that nourishes you. Get enough sleep, water, exercise, and stay tuned to your feelings; stay tuned to your body!
